Your sign in the ice shed (whether in-ice or on the walls) will be viewed by over 200 members of the club on a weekly basis. It will also be viewed by many out-of-town visitors attending weekend bonspiels who will be looking to purchase services in what may be, to them, an unfamiliar community. This exposure with these two different audiences would surely keep your business top of mind with all of our curlers and their families and friends.
Beyond the immediate business benefit, the revenues generated by advertising help the curling club to deal with increasing operating costs without having to make membership fees unaffordable to members of the local community. Your advertising dollars will help us to provide the Chester community with one of the few facilities that operate through the winter providing fun and healthy activities for citizens of all ages.
The Chester Curling Club
A non-profit, volunteer-run organization located on the South Shore of scenic Nova Scotia. The Club is an integral part of the Charles E. Church Recreational Center (aka The Park) along with the Chester Tennis Club and the Eleanor Pew Morris Memorial Rink. Established in 1969, the Chester Curling Club is a 4 sheet, heated facility with lockers, downstairs bar and lounge and ice viewing area. We offer Learn to Curl classes, drop-in day curling, men’s and ladies evenings, competitive leagues and a robust Junior Program from which we are proud to recognize Team Mary Fay, winners of the 2015 Canada Games Silver Medal, and the 2016 Canadian and World Junior Women's Championships.
The 2019-2020 season will be an exciting one as we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the construction of the curling rink and the formation of the club. As well, we will be hosting two NS Curling Association junior championship bonspiels, three invitational junior bonspiels and several annual club open bonspiels, all of which should attract many visitors to our community.
What are the opportunities?
We offer a variety of advertising opportunities including
- In-Ice Logos
- Wall Signage
- Website Banners
These are mesh logos that are frozen into the ice at various locations on the ice sheets, as described below.
Brand the House
Put your company branding on the scoring rings on the end of the ice sheet closest to the spectators in the lounge. This option also includes a 4’ x 2’ sign on the scoreboard of the sheet that your company has branded. The cost to the advertiser of the reusable logo is $375 and the advertising fee is $1000 per season to brand one of the four sheets at the Chester Curling Club. If an advertiser pays for two years, then the Curling Club will pay for the logo.
Other In-Ice locations
Reusable logos can also be placed in positions A1, B1 or B2 on any of our ice sheets.
The logos cost $8/sq ft plus HST to manufacture.
The other locations shown on the diagram are not being offered so as not to detract from the Branding of the House option.The advertising fee for the A1 location is $200 and for B1 or B2 is $250.
The Curling Club posts advertising signs of various sizes on the walls of the ice shed where they are clearly visible to curlers and spectators. If you do not already have a sign of your own, we have made arrangements with a sign maker to create Corex signs for you at a preferential rate as shown below:
|Sign Size||Advertising fee||Sign Maker Cost|
|2’ x 2’||$130||$50|
|2’ x 3’||$160||$60|
|4’ x 4’||$250||$75|
Note – All advertising fees for in-ice and wall sign advertising include HST. Manufacture of mesh logos and Corex signs are subject to tax and possible set-up fees if suitable graphics are not provided by the advertiser.
We run an advertising banner on every page of the Curling Club website www.chestercurlingclub.ca which shows, on a rotating basis, the business cards of all of our advertisers along with embedded links to their business website. The website ads are included free of charge in the cost of your in-ice or wall sign advertising.
